Carolyn McGuire
Carolyn (Stockdale) McGuire is an experienced big law attorney practicing in New Jersey. She is Of Counsel with The Basil Law Group, P.C., and the Managing Member of McGuire Law, LLC. Ms. McGuire earned her bachelor’s degree in English Literature at Knox College & Albert Ludwig Universität, and studied at Seton Hall University School of Law for her J.D.
Ms. McGuire has practiced law for more than 25 years, developing practice concentrations focused on business litigation, employment law, local governmental law, contract law, and mediation. She has appeared on behalf of clients before administrative boards, including PFRS, and municipal governing bodies and has previously served as an acting assistant county counsel. She is experienced in general litigation and, as a Veterans Administration (VA) accredited attorney, is well versed in veterans’ appeals and employment law issues. Ms. McGuire is a member of the American Bar Association (ABA), the New Jersey State Bar Association (NJSBA), the Sidney Reitman Employment Law American Inn Court, and the Advocati Christi Association of Lawyers and volunteers with the NJSBA Military Legal Assistance Program. She has published articles in the New Jersey Insurance Reporter and on Nolo.com and her name appears in reported decisions.
Ms. McGuire has represented clients from small, mid and large cap firms in business litigation, contracts and business advice matters, as well as employees of the United States Army, Navy and VA. She has provided plaintiff and management representation on issues ranging from Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) requirements, discrimination cases, public and private employment matters, union grievance hearings and appeals, and government local government litigations, and drafted local government contracts, resolutions and ordinances at the local levels.
When not working, Ms. McGuire enjoys reading, writing, traveling and spending time with her husband, daughters, and Vizsla.
